Privacy
The Status Code Checker has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party scripts. Here is everything it handles when you use it.
The URL you check
The checker requests the URL you enter, follows its redirects and reads the final page's status code, headers and robots meta tags. It keeps the result only long enough to show it to you. It does not keep a history of the URLs you check.
Your network address
To hold everyone to 20 free checks a day, the checker counts checks per network. It keeps a one-way hash of your IP address with the day's count, in memory only, never the address itself, and forgets the counts when the day ends at midnight UTC or the server restarts. A limit per minute is kept the same way.
The captcha
Each check is protected by a small puzzle your browser solves in the background, which makes automated floods expensive. The puzzle comes from this site and is checked by this site: no third party is involved, nothing about you is sent anywhere else, and it sets no cookie. The site remembers, in memory only, that a solved puzzle was used, so it cannot be used twice, and forgets it when the puzzle expires ten minutes later.
Cookies
The checker sets no cookies of its own.
